Design-Build is the most efficient and economical process available to today’s remodeling client. By combining design and construction, our clients get the best of both worlds; a beautiful professional design, an accurate, affordable construction budget and a well run job completed On Time and On Budget.
After a preliminary meeting, at which the scope of work and the client’s budget is discussed, the client signs our Design-Build Agreement. This document outlines the scope of services to be provided by R. Craig Lord Construction Company. The project is defined and a preliminary budget range is determined. The Design-Build Agreement also breaks down the design cost at every stage.
In this stage we meet with our clients to refine the design along with the scope of work. The design should be a custom expression of our client’s needs and wishes. It should also be practical and take the most efficient and cost effective path towards these goals. The construction budget is constantly updated and reviewed with the client.
Elevations, floor plans and specifications are provided at this stage. We also provide a fixed budget number. The plans and budget are thoroughly reviewed to make sure the client’s needs are met. At the end of this stage we provide a fixed budget number and a time estimate (an estimate of how long the project will take to complete).
Final plans, specifications, and a construction contract are all presented in this phase. A construction schedule is also created and the job planning begins.
